7. Currency/exchange/credit cards

Currency unit of Ukraine is hryvnia. Credit cards are accepted in banks, large hotels, some travel agencies and shops.

As of 28 February 2018, Ukrainian hryvnia exchange rate was as following:

Banks are open from 9:00 a.m. till 18:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Currency exchange is

8. General information

Kiev is the capital city of Ukraine, a hero city. It is the largest city of Ukraine, as well as its cultural, political, social and economic, transport, scientific and religious center. Also, Kiev is the seventh largest city of Europe by population after Moscow, Istanbul, London, Saint Petersburg, Berlin, and Madrid: density of the population in Kiev is 3,433 per km2. Kiev occupies a territory of 847 km2.It lies on the river of Dnipro, in the north of central area of the country, and is a separate administrative and territorial unit of Ukraine. The city consists of 10 districts located on right and left riversides.

Kiev has a moderately continental climate. In May, average daily temperature is + 21° C, average night temperature is +12° C.

13. Visa

Those participants who need an entry visa to Ukraine are recommended to apply in advance to the Ukrainian consulate in their country for information on visa requirements.
