The contemporary stage of the world development acquires characteristic features, which are typical for the information society, in which knowledge, as information resource, becomes the main asset and the main factor of economic development of the state. Conditions of formation of Ukrainian market demand specialists to solve special tasks, aimed at accelerating important political tasks of informatization of the state, participation in the global information infrastructure. The area of information and communication technologies, in turn, poses complex of new challenges for higher school that need urgent systemic approach to education. The higher schools are maintaining a high level of education, traditionally inherent to the Ukrainian educational system and its further development. The sphere of telecommunications is dynamically updated, requires a variety of new knowledge. The problem of highly qualified specialists, capable of continuous updating of knowledge, professional mobility, is of a particular importance.

BASICS OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES (BICT) - refers to normative disciplines, professionally oriented discipline.

It provides basic knowledge of the fundamentals of modern communication technologies. It introduces students to basic concepts and definitions related to the concept of the global information infrastructure, the general characteristics of telecommunication services and their peculiarities in the development of the information society; needs of operators in communication networks, basic principles of development in Ukraine and requirements to the advanced communication networks; basic indicators of information efficiency networks, determine their quality; standards and basis of IP-telephony, computer telephony integration and converged networks; optical technologies (xWDM); package technology, and its characteristics (MPLS); basics of Ethernet technology; structural scheme of the GSM network, networks of the 3rd generation UMTS/WСDMA, CDMA-2000 and network of 4G (WiMAX, LTE); general structure, principles of functioning,  main services of the international computer network; general characteristics of the main services: electronic mail (E-Mail); electronic data interchange (EDI); effective use of the modern innovation technologies in the educational activity and everyday life.

The basic TECHNICAL document (CTD) - refers to the normative disciplines, professionally oriented discipline. It gives students general understanding of the technical documentation (TD), different types of documents classified by types, distribution and validity, according to TD standards; the requirements for development of technical and scientific documentation: the content, form of presentation of the text; background knowledge on the basics of working plans of communication equipment is provided; schemes of relationship between documents; the rules of registration, accounting, storage, dissemination of technical and scientific documentation, skills registration application and reporting on grants; work with scientific and technical literature, manuals; harmonization of scientific and technical documentation according to requirements of international standardization organizations; the automation of the rational technique processes, etc.; electronic flow of modern information-communication technologies; identifies requirements for the inventions protection.
Students learn to understand, analyze the basic concepts and stages of technical documentation development, use these rules and skills to comply with existing state standards, to assess the value of the relationship documents, to introduce rational methods of work with the TD.

INTRODUCTION TO SPECIALITY (IS) - is an educational discipline independent of the choice of higher education. It examines the emergence and development of engineering activity; development of telephone and telegraph communication, modern telephone and computational networks, converged network. The course introduces students to the telecommunication sector, subdivisions and activities; operators and their role in the market of telecommunication services; basic concepts of telecommunication systems and networks such as: information, communication, signal modulation, telecommunication network. It investigates the elements of communication networks, their purpose and the relationship between them, different variants of construction networks. Discipline also explores the concept of switching their advantages, disadvantages, application, Soft switch PSTN and IP networks; the concept of a resource relationships and methods of distribution. Special attention is paid to the main trends of modern telecommunication networks development and the concept of the global information infrastructure.

END DEVICES SUBSCRIBER ACCESS (EDSA) refers to normative disciplines, professionally oriented discipline. It introduces students to studying main principles of construction and operation of telecommunication equipment held by user (a variety of terminals, road and laptop computers, asynchronous modems) and allows students to systemize principles of systems construction with time division of channels and pulse-code modulation), students learn about switching systems and information distribution SC and RI in a modern telecommunication infrastructure, generic network architecture, methods and means of technical diagnostics (administration), telecommunication and information systems and networks with the use of computers and microprocessors, general principles and special features of radio communication systems development. As a result of study students should be able to:

  • create software tools for cable modems and wireless links, testing systems of information transfer in access networks;
  • follow the passage of signals in access networks;  create optimal conditions for the computers and software transfer of information telecommunication systems and networks;
  • analyze and synthesize approaches to the optimal access control; establish objectives to the optimal program control telecommunication systems and networks;
  • create algorithms transfer signals in the data interfaces telecommunication systems and networks.

The THEORY of TRANSFER AND processing of DATA IN INFOCOMMUNICATIONS (TTDI) - refers to normative disciplines, professionally oriented discipline. It studies the basis of the modern theory of telecommunications, the General patterns of transmission of information, the potential ways of transmitting and receiving signals, the mathematical description with emphasis on the physical interpretation of the processes that occur during transmission of messages and signals in communication systems; methods of ensuring peak performance communication systems as over the reliability and speed of information transfer; the transfer of signal communication channels in the presence of noise from a mathematical point of view; digital methods of information transmission and methods of separation signals, the main characteristics of signals, general principles of modulation. Kotelnikov Theorem. The main directions of the communication systems development are also presented, as well as methods of effective coding; theorem for the noise channel; the information characteristics of the sources of continuous messages; throughput of continuous channel; epsilon-entropy performance; designation and classification codes; linear binary block codes; main codes and their adjustment capacity; principles of noise proof coding; decoding with detecting and correcting errors; systematic correcting codes; testing of the matrix; syndromic decoding; hamming codes; cyclic codes; the encoding and decoding of cyclic codes; the use of the generating matrix of the generating polynomials; implementation of corrective and decoding devices.

BASICS of NETWORK INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES (BNIT) - refers to normative disciplines, professionally oriented discipline.

It provides basic knowledge of the fundamentals of modern information technologies. It introduces students to studying basic concepts and definitions related to the concept of the global information infrastructure, the general characteristics of telecommunication services and their peculiarities in the development of the information society; the needs of operators of communication networks, the basic principles of development in Ukraine and requirements to advanced communication networks; basic indicators of information efficiency networks, determine their quality; standards and the basis of technology of an IP-telephony, the question of computer telephony integration and converged networks; and optical technologies (xWDM); package technology, and their characteristics (MPLS); basics of Ethernet technology; structural scheme of the GSM network, the network of the 3rd generation UMTS/WСDMA, CDMA-2000 network 4 generation (WiMAX, LTE); general structure, principles of functioning, the main services of the international computer network; general characteristics of the main services: electronic mail (E-Mail); electronic data interchange (EDI); effective use of the modern innovative technologies in the educational-cognitive activity and everyday life.

TECHNOLOGICAL PRACTICE refers to normative disciplines, professionally oriented discipline. It studies technological processes of the enterprise. The purpose of the discipline is to acquire practical experience in maintenance of the functional units of the enterprise, the study of labour safety, fire safety and environmental protection; the acquaintance with the enterprise form and its place in the hierarchy structure; with the element base use of functional units equipment; with media information transfer (cable, fiber optic, ether), their capabilities, capacities and technical characteristics; he sttudy of the protection systems of the cable lines, technical alarms (optical, acoustic, monitoring equipment, measuring equipment, control devices, intercom system, and collaboration with the centre for technical exploitation; equipment time division of channels, its technical characteristics; general information about technology: multiplexing signals; primary multiplexing; asynchronous multiplexing (cycle structure); communication systems of signaling methods; the combination of systems multiplexing frequency and time division multiplexing (trans multiplexer); the combination of systems is time division; transfer of ATM cells paths asynchronous and synchronous digital hierarchy; acquaintance with the technical documentation.

III. EDUCATIONAL-QUALIFYING LEVEL "MPhil"

Speciality Telecommunication systems and networks

ACCESS SYSTEM (AS) - refers to the normative disciplines of higher educational establishments, vocational-oriented discipline. The subject of the course is the system knowledge of the theoretical foundations, the main characteristics and features of platform realization, networks, systems of access to telecommunications services, technical, economic, organizational problems of implementation of the access network, which consists of the following main units:

  • basic features and peculiarities of implementation of the platform and network access systems;
  • application of digital methods of transfer in the systems of customer access;
  • basics technology of building access systems;
  • technology of multifunction access to telecommunication services;
  • multi-function access systems;
  • modernization and design of transmission lines and access systems.

The purpose of course studying is formation of system concepts of a certain set of knowledge and skills on technologies of networks efficiency and access to telecommunications services of various users, the study of the theoretical foundations and principles of digital access systems and modernization of communication networks in fully digital on the basis of perspective technologies of telecommunications.
The task of the course is the formation of the following skills: personally or in a group of specialists prepare job search research for the preparation of design (modernization) systems, networks, facilities and means of telecommunication and carry out research work using the hardware specifications, regulations and instructions; to develop and implement of newest equipment and the equipment of telecommunication systems and networks, using the acquired knowledge of the transmission systems in telecommunications, guidelines and standards, ISO, ITU and national standards of Ukraine, principles of action systems access and modern digital communication systems (technology xDSL, ISDN, WLL and others); to optimize the technical-economic parameters of the project options for the construction (modernization) systems, networks, structures and means of telecommunication, using technical characteristics of the equipment, modern methods of designing and optimization of computing technique.

DESIGNING of INFOCOMMUNICATION NETWORKS – refers to normative disciplines. The aim of the course is to acquaint future specialists with the general rules and regulations concerning the design process infocommunication networks, and also study the principles of IP networks, on the basis of principles which operates in the most modern networks, and will be built next generation networks.With the passage of the course students should know: the general procedure for the design, standards and other normative documents relating to the design infocommunication networks, principles and methodology for the design of info-communications networks based on packet switching, multiservice networks, next generation networks, briefly discusses and the principles of other infocommunication networks designing.

MANAGEMENT IN RADIO TECHNOLOGIES (MRT) - belongs to the disciplines of higher education. The subject of the course is study  of  the main types, functions and component parts management; general concepts regarding management: policy and economic methods, operational and strategic management; the structure of the control system;  role of information system; formation about the market of radio communication of Ukraine; trends of technical and economic development; the main requirements for the enterprises in modern conditions; basic functions of communication; the role of radio-relay systems in the urban context; package technology and their features; mobile network, 3G; architecture and LTE capabilities, and WI-MAX; the management of enterprises, radio technologies, components, defining the strategy of the enterprise development; prospects of technologies in Ukraine; main normative documents in the field of radio technology; methods for analyzing the effects of market strategy.
