General information

The history of the faculty of Information technology begins with September 1, 1990. Then full-time faculty of the Kiev branch of Odessa electro-technical Institute of communication (EC OEIC), Dean of which was the candidate of technical Sciences, associate Professor Uvarov Rostislav Vasilievich was reorganized in faculty of automatic telecommunications with day time and correspondence form of education (now the faculty of Information technologies) and the Department of multichannel communication. In turn, full-time faculty was established on the basis of full-time studies at the evening Department KF OEIC. Evening faculty at that time was led by candidate of technical Sciences, associate Professor Markov Sergey Efimovich. Works connected with organization of full-time study in KF OEIC, and the management of natural separation was the responsibility of the candidate of technical Sciences, Professor of Tverdohleb Nikolai Grigorievich. The first set of the day Department took place in 1986.

Dean of the faculty of automatic telecommunications from the date of its creation was the candidate of technical Sciences, Professor Markov Sergey Efimovich. From 1998 to July 2004, the Department was headed by candidate of technical Sciences, associate Professor Shestak Igor Vasilievich. From August 2004 to August 2006, the Dean of the faculty was doctor of technical Sciences , Professor Smirnov Vladimir Sergeevich. On September 1, 2006 the faculty of Information technologies, which became part of the Educational-scientific Institute of telecommunications and Informatization of University, headed by candidate of technical Sciences, associate Professor Tverdokhlib Nikolai Grigorievich.

Informational technologies Department trains bachelors, specialists and masters in "telecommunications" and "Computer engineering" under the day time form of training. Since 2001 the faculty conducts reception of graduates-bachelors of the Kyiv College of communication and other educational institutions for training on educational - qualifying levels of specialist and master. For the period from 1990 to 1996 the faculty has prepared on the evening form of training 182 graduates from 1990 to 2004 - by distance learning about 1000 graduating students. The first graduates of stationary form of training at the faculty took place in 1991. In 2003 the first graduation of masters (23 graduates).

Integration of education with the production consists of several kinds of practices, starting from the second year of installation, technological, operational and undergraduate. The faculty has contracts in the practical training of students of Kiev city and Kiev region directorates, Crimea, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava Directorate of the OJSC "Ukrtelecom", the GE "Ukrainian mobile communication", CC "Kyivstar GSM", GE  “Telecom LTD", PC "Telecominvest" and the like.
